My name is Daniel Roulston and my interest in photography began in my early childhood through my grandmother, who always seemed to have a camera in hand, and also my uncle, whose photographs of the world proved to be a wonderful never ending visual experience for a young boy. A photograph captures a window to the world, frozen forever in photons. That scene, in the longward march of time forward, will, in all proabability, never come again. A photographer presents these views to the observer, to make what he or she will of them, and that is the essence of photography.
